Digital and Social Media Marketing Tools and Platforms

The Social Media tools and platforms will be organized around Tuten and Solomon's (2015) four zones of social media (Figure 4.1). It is a way to focus on the most important functions of each social media platform. The various uses of social media for personal and commercial purposes often mean some overlap of more zones e. g. as the case with Facebook or Snapchat.

That is the nature of social media. All social media are networked around relationships, technologically enabled, and based on the principles of shared participation.
